Nothing test a crop like a heat wave. This one lands at the perfect moment.
Franck Hennequart and Marine Dehail visited the LOCALITY Algae project field trials at the Wydział Leśny Uniwersytetu Rolniczego w Krakowie (Agricultural University of Krakow) with Professor Wojciech Szewczyk.
The design is deliberately tough: some plants get irrigation (see black hoses on the carrousel below), others get none. As Europe bakes under the current heatwave, the rainfed plants face real water stress, exactly where algae-based ingredients from by-products of Algaia’s processing must prove their value.
LOCALITY puts seaweed processing byproducts and microalgae from recycled waste waters to work for lower input, more resilient farming.
Stay tuned, we will share what the field reveals.
