Last week, Algaia had the pleasure of co-hosting the 3rd Annual Seamark Meeting alongside the SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth EEIG in the beautiful region of Normandy.
The SEAMARK project—led by Ocean Rainforest and funded by the Horizon Europe programme—brings together 25 partners from across the entire value chain. With a strong focus on macroalgae, the project aims to develop and scale up innovative, sustainable, and regenerative solutions spanning food, feed, materials, and cosmetics.

Over three intensive and collaborative days, partners came together to exchange insights, review progress, and shape the next steps in driving sustainable seaweed innovation across Europe.

As part of this effort, the Algaia team has made significant strides in validating an innovative co-extraction process for alginate and fucoidans at a semi-industrial scale—targeting applications in cosmetics and animal nutrition.

A heartfelt thank you to all participants for your inspiring contributions and continued dedication as we head into the final year of the SEAMARK journey.
